Guided Tour Grossvenediger-Grossglockner

Be part of this unique guided tour in the famous Hohe Tauern Nationalpark, the highest mountain range in Austria. As a walk-in tour we will climb Grossvenediger, the majesty of the Hohe Tauern with its huge glaciers. The absolute highlight of this hiking tour will be the ascent to the Grossglockner, with 3.798 m the highest mountain in Austria

Planned itinerary:

1. Tag: Arrival at Salzburg or München, individual transfer (railway/bus) to Matrei in Osttirol, meeting the guide in the late afternoon, planning the next days / Overnight in Matrei
2. Tag: Transfer to Innergschlöss (1.691 m), the starting point for ascents to the Grossvenediger from the eastern side. Ascent to the Neue-Prager-Hütte (2.769 m/3-4 hours/1.000 m height difference up)
3. Tag: Early start for climbing the Großvenediger (3.667 m) via Schlatenkees, for the descent we will choose the southern route on the Mullwitzkees via Rainertörl (3.422 m) and Defreggerhaus (2.965 m) to the Johannishütte (2.121 m/7-8 hours/ 1.100 m height difference up/1.550 m down). Transfer by minibus to Matrei / Overnight in Matrei
4. Tag: After breakfast transfer by minibus to the Neue Lucknerhaus (1.918 m) near Kals. Ascent via Glorer Hütte (2.651 m) and Berger Törl to the Salmhütte (2.638 m/3-4 hours/1.050 m height difference up/300 m down)
5. Tag: Ascent to Grossglockner (3.798 m) via Hohenwartscharte (3.182 m) Erzherzog Johann-Hütte (3.451 m) Kleinglockner (3.770 m) and Glocknerscharte to the summit of the Großglockner (3.798 m). Descent on the Ködnitzkees to the Stüdlhütte (2.802 m/7- 8 hours/1.200 m height difference up/1.000 m down)
6. Tag: Descent via Lucknerhütte (2.241 m) to the car park close to the Neue Lucknerhaus (1.918 m/2-3 hours/900 m height difference), transfer by minibus back to Matrei / Overnight in Matrei
7. Tag: Individual departure
